To deliver an exceptional, large-scale year end celebration for Discovery employees, creating a high-energy, memorable evening that rewards and recognises staff in a meaningful and festive way.
Managing a 1700-person event demands flawless logistical coordination, rigorous health and safety planning, and a creative vision strong enough to land consistently across every touchpoint, from their arrival to the close of show.
A carnival theme was brought to life, woven into every element of the evening, from décor and food to entertainment. Carnival dancers, a DJ, themed photobooths and carnival masks for guests to create an immersive, celebratory atmosphere, from arrival to the main show.
We followed the PMBOK project management methodology, with a dedicated project management team and key suppliers assigned from the outset. Planning was managed on SharePoint for full transparency and shared oversight, supported through weekly internal and client status meetings. External health and safety contractors managed JOC applications, on-site security, medical cover and full safety file planning. Event documentation included technical drawings, décor plans, catering briefs, crew deployment, security plans, emergency protocols, run of show, load-in schedules and strike plans.
Now in its second consecutive year managed by True North, the evening delivered an exceptional employee-focused celebration, reinforcing the trust Discovery places in the team to execute at scale, year on year.
