Event Producer
We Don’t Want an Events Manager Who Needs Everything to Go to Plan
(Because nothing ever does.)
If you need:
● Perfect briefs
● Clear instructions
● Problems that come with instructions
● Time to “circle back”
This role will stress you out. ….. But if a half-formed idea, a broken plan, and a ticking clock wake something up in your brain… keep reading.
The Reality (Still Not Pretty)
Events are live puzzles with missing pieces:
● A speaker cancels, the client is watching, and the doors open in 20 minutes
● The layout doesn’t fit, the budget won’t stretch, and Plan A, B and C just died
● Someone says, “Can we just make it more wow?”
There’s no manual. There’s just you.
Where You Come In
You don’t panic—you reframe.
You don’t say “that won’t work”—you say “what if we…”
You:
● Turn constraints into concepts
● Solve problems with creativity, not excuses
● Make fast decisions with imperfect information
● Invent solutions that look intentional (even when they weren’t)
Most people manage tasks. You design outcomes.
The Payoff
Because when it works:
● Guests never see the problem you solved
● Clients think it was planned that way all along
● Teams trust you with the hardest moments
● You get the quiet satisfaction of outsmarting chaos
That rush? That’s your reward.
You’ll Thrive Here If You:
● Enjoy thinking on your feet—and under pressure
● See obstacles as creative prompts
● Can improvise without losing the bigger picture
● Balance logic with imagination
● Stay calm, curious, and resourceful
Experience helps.
Inventiveness wins.
What You’ll Do
● Plan and deliver events from concept to curtain-close
● Solve real-time problems creatively and decisively
● Manage suppliers, stakeholders, budgets, and expectations
● Turn “this is impossible” into “it’s done”
What you will need to bring to the table
● Has 4+ years’ experience producing corporate events as project lead?
● Can manage budgets, scope of work, teams, and suppliers?
● Is confident in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and able to prepare polished client presentations?
● Enjoys leading teams and coordinating suppliers to deliver seamless events?
● Is highly organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives under pressure?
● Owns a reliable car and is based in Johannesburg?
